The theme for this year is, "communication: The key to connection. '' More than 48 million Americans experience hearing loss, and 1 in 10 American's live with some type of communication disorder. Reach out to the media; visit your local legislator and /or organize a state advocacy day; arrange a speaking engagement; pick a high-traffic area in the community to share information; be social. Be creative; discuss effective communication with kids; Distribute and display material; educate your colleagues; partner with the high school career/ school counselor.
