When you eat foods such as chilli, with a mix of crackers,cheese,sour cream, and Frito lays, it create certain receptors and chemistry with your surrounding, and it illustrates your brain into believing everything is going to be okay. It's this one-two punch of comfort from chilli , followed by the rush of endorphins, is how so many people learn to associate hot foods with happy feelings.And the evidence suggests they may provide some significant health benefits. Researchers have found that chilli—the component that gives chili and heat—has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-cancer, and blood-glucose regulating effects.
When chilli– the sensation in the spicy inside the food that makes it so hot, Hot, HOT – hits your tongue, your body registers the sensation as comfort. This in turn triggers the release of endorphins, otherwise known as “happy” a hot bowl of chilli gives you an instant head-to-toe feeling of pleasure.In winter, due to it being darker and colder, we tend to stay indoors longer and self-medicate with foods that are carbohydrate and sugar-rich. These types of foods release glucose straight to our brain which gives us an instant feeling of happiness when we are feeling cold, sad, tired, or bored.Feeling comfortable is the sense of calm, of repose, experienced while knowing that all is okay, even when things could be better. It is effortlessly continuing with new-familiar ways of being.We all have a need for comfort, that warm feeling of contentment as we snuggle down and forget the cares that stress us. Basic comforts include warmth, shelter and food. Social comforts include company, physical contact and sympathy.
Based on the definition of needs, necessities refer to the basic needs human beings require to survive.In contrast to the concept of necessities as basic needs, comforts can be considered as construed needs, which focus on the conditions under which individuals feel that their basic needs are being satisfied.A degree of psychological comfort can be achieved by recreating experiences that are associated with pleasant memories, such as engaging in familiar activities, maintaining the presence of familiar objects, and consumption of comfort foods.
