There are currently 435 voting representatives. Five delegates and one resident commissioner serve as non-voting members of the House, although they can vote in committee. Representatives must be 25 years old and must have been U.S. citizens for at least 7 years.Why are there only 435 members of the House of Representatives?Because the House wanted a manageable number of members, Congress twice set the size of the House at 435 voting members.
